The Norse Education Foundation hopes that you will be able to join us in supporting literacy in our community through our Norse Book Drive. The Norse Education Foundation is collecting new and gently used books as well as monetary donations in order to curate both classroom and central libraries. These libraries provide our students with shared resources that not only teach information, but foster a love of reading.
Norse Education Foundation volunteers will be collecting donations from September 2nd-October 2nd. Collection sites will be located at all North Muskegon Schools offices. Donations will also be accepted at the Elementary Parent Night and at our Homecoming Tailgate.
The Norse Education Foundation is established to enrich the educational experiences of our students by funding excellence in teaching and learning beyond what is provided through operating funds.
The Norse Foundation And Other Funds
As an endowed foundation, contributions are added to the principal and spending each year is limited to 5.5% of the total balance in the fund. In addition to the general endowment fund, there are a number of separate funds in the Community Foundation and outside the Community Foundation, established by individuals, the purposes of which are to support educational experiences of North Muskegon students. The Norse Education Foundation also coordinates its grant making with these funds to maximize their impact.
We want to welcome and encourage contributions to the general endowment, or creation of separate funds established in the name of an individual to support educational enrichment of North Muskegon school students.
